In considering breast augmentation surgery, many women wonder about the consequences on pregnancy and breastfeeding. They want to know if having implants is safe for breastfeeding and whether they will hamper the process at all.
How It Works
Breast augmentation surgery can be performed in several different specific ways, but one of the most common methods is for the plastic surgeon to make an incision in the crease between the breast and the abdomen. The implants are then gently inserted into the desired position.
If they are silicone implants, they will go in at their complete size, requiring slightly larger incisions, while saline-filled devices can be inserted while deflated and can be filled with the fluid after they are well-positioned within the pocket. The incisions are then closed up and the anesthesia is allowed to wear off.

Breast augmentation is a readily available, medically advanced procedure that has benefited countless women across the globe – both physically and psychologically. However, the procedure itself is relatively new, with many women unaware of just how far it has come since its initial days of practice.
Implants have been used since at least 1895 to enhance the size of a woman’s breasts, as well as to augment the shape. The earliest known breast implant was attempted by Vincenz Czerny, using a woman’s own adipose – or loose connective – tissue. During the procedure, Czerny surgically transferred a benign growth from a woman’s back into her breast, in order to avoid asymmetry after removing a tumor from that same breast.
Previous to this procedure, however, medical records show that paraffin injections were given in 1889, in an attempt to augment breast size or shape – with disastrous results. During the early to mid 1900s, a number of other substances were implanted or injected for the same purpose, including glass balls, ivory, ox cartilage, wool, rubber and other materials.

Breast augmentation sizing is a challenge for the doctor
as well as the patient. Breast implant sizes affect each woman’s body differently. It is difficult for the doctor to predict precisely whether a 350cc breast implant size will make you a C cup, for example, until they get into the surgery. A 350cc on you may very well look different than on your friend.
Another challenge has to do with a patient’s reference to cup size. Women will often say, “I want to be a D cup”, or “Make me a C cup”. Many doctors will actually refuse to discuss cup size since there are many factors which cup size does not describe. Even more importantly, cup size is not standardized by the bra industry. One manufacturer’s B cup, might be a another manufacturer’s C cup. That makes it difficult for a doctor to say precisely what cup size you will be.

Breast augmentation statistics for 2008 were released on March 16, 2009 by the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS). With the economy in a tailspin, the choice of breast augmentation has been remarkably resilient as the statistics show.
The statistics released today show that 355,671 breast augmentation procedures were performed in 2008, down just eleven percent from the year 2007. Considering the massive drop on Wall Street last year, the drive and desire for this popular surgery waned only slightly.
This is the first year in which fewer breast augmentation surgeries was done than the previous year, but in today’s economy it is not a surprise.

Ask a woman how she feels about breast augmentation after the procedure was done. Studies show that by far most women who have had the procedure done are glad they have done it. If they have a complaint it is usually related to their choice of breast implant size. In fact, the leading cause of subsequent surgeries is really just to change the size of the breast implant. Why is this happening?
Let’s take a moment and examine how most patients are choosing their breast implant size. In most cases, patients are basing their choice of breast implant size on how various breast implant sizers look on other women’s bodies. They are encouraged to look at before and after photos and decide what breast size is right for them. In other cases, women are encouraged to cut out pictures of models with breast sizes they imagine will be right for themselves. Unfortunately, different breast implant sizes look different on each woman’s body. This system is just not working well.

You see it all the time in soaps and cinema. There you see someone who is changed completely, so much so that they live with their friends without being identified. You also hear of international criminals taking another identity reportedly with the help of plastic surgery in some unknown faraway countries. And do you believe this is possible?
Let us examine the facts one by one. Face is the most identifiable part of a person. What can plastic surgery do for the face? Plastic surgery is commonly performed to improve one’s features. Take the case of nose. Nose surgery can turn a flat nose into a prominent one, a thick nose into a slender and shapely one, a very big nose into smaller one. This is done through concealed scars and no one can make it out. (more…)
There is good news for everyone who wants a cosmetic surgery, but has shuddered at the thought of its cost, till now. Tummy tuck in the Dominican Republic can save you bundles of dollars!
When you lose weight drastically, it affects the skin and muscles of your stomach in a similar fashion as pregnancy. The stretching causes damage to the muscles and skin. They lose their elasticity, which prevents them from gaining their original firmness. Ageing also has a detrimental effect at your abdomen. The skin gets inelastic and abdominal muscles relax, giving it a sagging appearance.
Diet and exercise can help enhance your tummy, but only to a certain extent. If you want a complete repair of your abdominal muscles with a smooth and firm skin, tummy tuck is the answer.
A large number of women, after pregnancy, opt for tummy tuck in the Dominican Republic. Your skin experiences a lot of stretching during pregnancy. The abdominal wall muscles get separated and are not able to regain their tautness, even when the tissue retracts. Thus, you get a sagging stomach.
